Meals on Wheels Drivers


We are looking for volunteers to deliver meals to area seniors.  Meal deliveries take place Monday – Thursday starting at 11:30 AM.  This is a flexible position and drivers are offered mileage reimbursement and additional liability insurance.  A couple hours a week can mean so much to seniors in need of nutritious meals.


Driver Escort Volunteers for RSVP


DESCRIPTION –  Do you like to drive and connect with others? How about becoming a Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) driver?  We rely on our volunteer driver service to transport seniors to medical appointments and other necessary appointments outside the city of Verona.


Lunch Volunteers


DESCRIPTION – The Senior Center provides a healthy lunch to older adults.  We provide these meals daily.  The duties include setting dishware on the tables, serving the lunch, clean up and wiping down the tables.
TIME COMMITMENT– Days and times are flexible between 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, Monday-Friday.

Kitchen Helpers

Do you enjoy working with food? The Senior Center is looking for a couple volunteers to help prepare the Meals on Wheels and Drive Up meals. This opportunity would require standing for 2-3 hours and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

Loan Closet Managers


Do you like working with people and offering assistance in finding resources? The Senior Center is looking for 2-3 volunteers to maintain inventory in our loan closet and schedule appointments with people who want to borrow or donate items.

Front Desk Volunteers


Do you love customer service? The Senior Center is looking for a few volunteers to provide a welcoming face at the front desk. Duties include answering phones, greeting visitors, and registering people for programs using the computer. This opportunity would have a set weekly schedule, and shifts would be 3 – 4 hours a day.

DESCRIPTION– Greet and welcome new and current users of the Center.  The volunteer provides information about the Center and registers seniors for activities and programs over the phone and in person.  They also take messages for and transfers calls to staff, and perform miscellaneous clerical duties.  Some computer skills are required.

TIME COMMITMENT– Days and times are flexible between 8:30 AM-4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.

Outdoor Plant Helper


Do you love the outdoors? We are looking for volunteers to help manage and water our new raised garden beds. This opportunity is weather dependent but most weeks would require 2-3 visits each week.


Marketing & Social Media Assistant


DESCRIPTION – Assist our Board Member Rich Bartlett with the Friends of the Verona Senior Center website.  Must have computer skills.


Special Events Volunteer


DESCRIPTION – Assist the Program Manager and Program Assistant by helping with planning and set up/clean up for Special Events. This includes decorating, greeting all users and directing them to the event as people arrive.


Foot Care Volunteer


DESCRIPTION – Assist foot care provider with greeting of the participants, checking them in and filling soaking tubs for each participant.
TIME COMMITMENT– One Monday per month 8:30 AM-11:00 AM


Light Housekeeping Assistant


DESCRIPTION – Assist Program Manager by performing light housekeeping, including cleaning chairs, tables and sweeping the patio. Also stocking coffee stations with cups, plates, napkins, etc.

Cleaning Assistants


Is cleaning your thing? Then we have an opportunity for you! The Senior Center is looking for a few volunteers to help staff clean tables and chairs after inhouse programs. This opportunity would be flexible and would vary from week to week.

Board Members


Do you like a variety of clerical work, or helping with fundraising activities? The Senior Center is looking for a few board members. Duties include attending a once a month board meeting, helping with fundraisers, promote or deliver program notices to businesses. This opportunity would vary from week to week.
