UW Students will discuss some of the many over-the-counter medications offered to treat these illnesses and which ones to avoid. They will also talk about when it is a good idea to not self-treat and when to get seen by a physician.

UW School of Pharmacy students will be presenting a topic discussion on Heartburn. The students will be discussing the causes and triggers of heartburn, as well as what we can do to reduce heartburn
Out of the more than 30 million people in the United States who have diabetes, one in four of them do not know they have it. Students from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy, will be presenting a session on diabetes and how it affects your body. Students will discuss the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes and ways to avoid type 2 diabetes. They will also emphasize some treatment options for diabetes including lifestyle changes and medications.
Osteoporosis is commonly a silent disease until a fracture ensues. Luckily, there are ways to prevent this from occurring! Students from the UW – Madison School of Pharmacy will be presenting on osteoporosis and how to prevent bone loss. Students will discuss many of the risk factors, treatment options, and steps to lower the risks for this bone disease. Put down your phones and come learn about bones!
