August 2020 – Updates from the Director

August 2020 – Updates from the Director

Hello from VSC!

As we move into fall we still have not found our new normal. I’m sure you all know the feeling! But we continue to be resilient and offer fun programs and valuable resources. If you haven’t joined us on Zoom we’ve got some great opportunities this month. Check them out on pages 3, 12 and 21.

As you may have seen in July Chronicle, the Verona Senior Center has a few new guidelines that have been implemented. Please take a look and we hope to see you soon.

For Your Safety & Protection

  • Masks are now mandatory in Dane County Public Buildings as of July 13. Masks help prevent the spread of germs and help keep all visitors and staff safe.
  • We also highly encourage your to sanitize or wash your hands upon entry and exiting VSC. There are six hand sanitizers on the walls around the building.
  • Floor markers will be used to indicate social distancing recommendations between participants.

New Procedures at the Senior Center

The Verona Senior Center will be offering a combination of limited in-house and virtual programs.
Please note all programs are subject to change. Please visit www.friendsofveronaseniorcenter.org and our Facebook page for updated information. All in-house programs will require reservations. Please sign up by calling 608-845-7471. Space is limited.

Programs – VSC will be using a new touchless check in system.  Please bring your membership card each time you come to the senior center. Please see page 10 for more details on programs.

Foot care – Members will be able to sign up for one appointment in August. At this time we are only booking appointments for August. Please check in at the front desk when you arrive.

Food & Beverages – Self serve beverages and snacks will NOT be available at this time. Members are welcome to bring your own water bottle however no outside food will be allowed in the building.

We thank you for our cooperation in advance and look forward to seeing everyone. If you have any questions please call 608-845-7471 and leave a message.

Be well,
