HAPPY MARCH!
WEATHER REMINDERS
The City of Verona believes that providing a public warming and cooling center during extreme temperature conditions will help protect citizens who would otherwise be exposed to those extreme conditions. Because of this, both the Senior Center and the Verona Public Library have been designated warming and cooling centers. Both buildings will be open even when the schools are closed. If the Senior Center does close we will update our website, phones, and social media as soon as possible.
ATTENTION RSVP, TRANSIT & MEALS ON WHEELS PARTICIPANTS
If you utilize the RSVP Program, the Transit bus, or the Meals on Wheels program, please make sure your driveway and the path to your front door is clear of snow and ice. If there is snow and ice, your ride will be denied, or your meal will not be delivered.
NAME UPDATE
Last month we recognized National Mutual Benefit as a generous donor, donating a brandnew treadmill to the Verona Senior Center. We’ve been notified that their company is now called BetterLife. Thanks again to them for their generosity!
NEW PROGRAMS
We’ve got a number of new programs coming this month. Be sure to check out the new in-house YOGA class at New at the Senior Center.
2022 UPGRADES
If you’ve been to the Senior Center lately, or follow us on Facebook, you’ve probably noticed all our changes taking place. Over the past few weeks, we’ve upgraded our lighting to new LED lights and had kitchen floor replaced! We are so excited about both of these changes and even more excited to get reorganized. Thanks for your patience with our mess.
WELCOME NEW VOLUNTEERS
Thank you and welcome to all of our new kitchen and Meals on Wheels volunteers. We are so excited to have more support for our Nutrition Program. For more information about our immediate needs, please refer to the Volunteers Section of our website.
EXPANDED RECYCLING
March is the perfect time to expand our “GREEN” initiatives at VSC. Check out our expanded recycling program on the What Can I Recycle at the Senior Center Page of our Website.
